ARTIST ON THE SCENE
HOPE GANGLOFF

I first discovered Hope Gangloff in Manhattan while touring local galleries, then rediscovered her on art-dept.com. Her edgy style consists of paintings and drawings of all sizes depicting those I suspect she is surrounded by in her everyday life. Using primarily primary colours, she doesn't rely on confusion to create a strong effect on the viewer. Her art work is relate-able and has the ability to create beauty in the most typical of situations. Gangloff's art feels modern and current, yet is constructed in techniques no doubt learned from the classics. Out of the numerous galleries I visited in New York, hers stood out the most.
